How I Made New Friends With MPN

Hello again!

I hope you are well and taking good care of yourself. I wanted to share with you a wonderful experience I had recently. Like me, I met other young Spanish women with Myeloproliferative Neoplasm (MPN).

One of the best ways I've found is to connect with others who understand what I'm going through. I was so happy to meet these amazing girls with MPN. We met online through a support group and decided to meet in person.

It was a rewarding experience; we connect in a unique way. It was like we had known each other forever. We could spend hours talking and talking. Some topics that came up were our diagnoses, symptoms, treatments, challenges and hopes. But all this with a great attitude, a positive outlook and a lot of peace.

They were precious moments. Moments that inspired me to write here. While the Internet is not the same thing as seeing yourself in person, meeting like-minded people who are going through this journey as you are is very important because you can feel supported by your longtime family and friends. But finding someone who understands what you're going through because you're going through something similar is another level.

If you have MPN or any other rare disease, I encourage you to reach out to others who share your condition. You can find them online, through social media, forums, blogs or support groups. You can also ask your doctor or nurse if they know of any local or national organizations that can help you connect with others.

You are not alone in this. Some people care about you and want to help you. And you might be surprised how much you can help them too. By sharing your stories, feelings, tips, advice and encouragement, you can make a difference in someone's life.

So feel free to meet other people with MPN. You may find new friends, allies, and sources of strength and joy. You can find yourself!
