From January 24th to 26th, the MPN Educational Roundtables united experts, associations, and patients across more than seven countries to focus on improving the quality of life for those living with Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs).
In a revealing session, individuals with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) like Polycythemia Vera (PV) and Essential Thrombocythemia (ET) shared their stories, shedding light on the profound physical and mental challenges they face. One PV patient recounted her exhaustive search for a diagnosis, detailing the severe fatigue that reshaped her life and the cognitive hurdles disrupting her work. These personal accounts underscored the drastic lifestyle changes and mental health struggles inherent to MPN management, highlighting the patients' resilience in adapting to their new realities. The discussions painted a vivid picture of the journey through MPN diagnosis and treatment, emphasizing the critical need for holistic care that addresses both the physical symptoms and the emotional well-being of those affected.
The insights shared at the MPN Educational Roundtables pave the way for a stronger, more connected community, pushing forward with the goal of improving life for MPN patients everywhere.
