Peter delivered a compelling presentation titled "What's the Burden of MF: Let's Talk Patient and Physician Perspectives" as part of the session “Realizing Better Outcomes for People Living with Myelofibrosis (MF): Translating Science to Treatment,” organized by Medscape Global Oncology. This session, held on Thursday, 13 June, was designed to encourage the exchange of ideas between leaders in the field and attendees, aimed at realizing better outcomes for people living with MF.
Session Highlights
Target Audience: This symposium was intended for a global audience of hematologists/oncologists, providing a platform for an international exchange of ideas.
Collaboration: Peter spoke alongside Ruben A. Mesa from Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center, USA, Jennifer M. O'Sullivan from Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, UK, and Adam Mead from MRC Molecular Haematology Unit, MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, NIHR Biomedical Research Centre University of Oxford, UK, ensuring the patient voice and perspective was considered at all times.
Accreditation: The session was accredited by Medscape, LLC, with commendation from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Peter’s presentation emphasised the significant burden of myelofibrosis on both patients and physicians, fostering a deeper understanding of the disease from multiple perspectives. His insights, along with those of Dr. Ruben A. Mesa and other speakers, are expected to drive forward the research and treatment approaches in this challenging field. The full Satellite Symposium recording will be available to watch on the GMPNSF website in the coming weeks.
